WORKSHOP GUIDELINES

 


SCHEDULING

1. WORKSHOPS MAY BE SCHEDULED TUESDAY NIGHTS; WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY DURING THE DAY AND WEEKENDS (OTHER THAN SUBMISSION WEEKENDS)


2. WORKSHOPS ARE NOT SCHEDULED ON SHOW SUBMISSION WEEKENDS


3. ONLY ONE WORKSHOP PER DAY/EVENING

INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES


1. INSTRUCTOR PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

  • COURSE DESCRIPTION

  • MINIMUM/MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS

  • SUPPLY LIST

  • PAYMENT INFORMATION

  • CONTACT INFORMATION (ON AAC FORM)

2. INSTRUCTOR DECIDES THE COST OF THE CLASS

a. 20 PERCENT OF CLASS FEES GO TO AAC
b. FEES FOR AAC MEMBERS ARE TO BE AT LEAST 15-20 PERCENT LESS THAN FEES FOR NON-MEMBERS

3. INSTRUCTOR DECIDES THE TIME AND LENGTH OF CLASS


4. INSTRUCTOR MUST FILL OUT A WORKSHOP INFORMATION FORM
(Available at AAC or from the Education chair)


5. INSTRUCTOR SETS UP THE STUDIO AS NEEDED FOR THE CLASS; CLEANS UP AT THE END OF EACH DAY SO THE STUDIO CAN BE USED FOR OTHER SCHEDULED PURPOSES


6. INSTRUCTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING STUDENTS FOR HER/HIS WORKSHOP AAC can help the instructor attract students in these ways:

a. Publish an announcement in the monthly AAC Flourish magazine...
(more than 500 aritsts)...Email to Alisha Ard: art@alishaard.com


b. Post notices or flyers at the center on the appropriate bulletin board (in the studio); instructor provides the flyer or written notice.


c. Email notice to President Lisa Moore: jacklaw2@bellsouth.net


d. Post an announcement on the AAC website. The instructor must provide the Information to the webmaster: c.majewski@att.net


e. Give a demonstration/talk at the General Meeting or the AAC Salon. Arrange this as far ahead as possible with the Programs chair. Clipboard may be passed around at the meeting for interest or workshop sign-up.
 

REGISTRATION/PAYMENT

1. INSTRUCTOR COLLECTS FEES FROM STUDENTS TO HOLD PLACE IN CLASS. PLACE IS HELD ONLY WITH ACTUAL PAYMENT NOT PROMISE OF PAYMENT


2. REGISTRATION IS ON A FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVED BASIS—UPON RECEIPT OF PAYMENT IN FULL


3. RETURN CHECK FEE IS $25 PER CHECK


4. INSTRUCTOR PAYS 20 PERCENT TO THE ATLANTA ARTISTS CENTER

REFUND POLICY

1. IF CLASS IS CANCELLED BY THE INSTRUCTOR, REGISTERED STUDENTS ARE ENTITLED TO A FULL REFUND


2. STUDENTS MAY CANCEL AND RECEIVE A FULL REFUND UP TO THREE WEEKS PRIOR TO THE CLASS


3. IF THE CANCELLATION NOTICE IS LESS THAN THREE WEEKS, THE REFUND WILL BE 50 PERCENT OF THE CLASS FEE. INSTRUCTOR MUST BE NOTIFIED AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO CLASS


4. NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN TO “NO-SHOWS”
